Of course we have found that the individuals who are successful in this position have a calmness about that that allows for them to easily build profitable sales relationships, have great insight into profitable risks based upon various account criteria and of course underwriting standards.
They peacefully and with great success manager a good sized protfolio with and mix of account and exposures. They are also equally comfortable developing new business and maintaining current accounts with zenlike abilities.
We do hope that you have a Bachelors degree and are interested and open to our continued paid education and certification offerings. It is at times difficult to say how long or how much experience one should have in order to enjoy and succeed in this position. On the surface it could be several years, for experienced many years and for others a nice combination of both. We do ask that you bring a thorough knowledge of commercial insurance coverage including contracts and underwriting guidelines. We also desire that you are comfortable with maintaining good business relationships and can reach out quickly and handle negotations. with integrity and strong business ethics.
